A few weeks ago, the Canadian singer released his third album, This Is How We Do It, which he said was his “most honest” record yet.
But a week later, the album came out.
While the album has yet to be released on Spotify, the artist did tell Billboard in a statement, “I’m really excited about it.
It’s going to be the first album that I’m really, really excited to share with people.”
The album is the first of his recent solo ventures to not only feature collaborations with Kanye West, Justin Bieber, and Chance the Rapper, but also the first to feature Kanye West and Chance The Rapper in the same album.
On Saturday, Billboard published an interview with the artist, in which he described the album as a “re-imagining” of his previous material.
“I really want to do it in a way that’s a little bit different, a little different from my previous work,” he said.
“It’s more a re-imagination of the music that I made and the stories that I told in the studio with my producer, which is pretty much my best friend.”
Weeknd’s latest album, titled “Boys Don’t Cry,” was released on January 17, and the Canadian-born singer is set to tour in the United States and Europe during the next few months.
The “reimagining of” part is a reference to the fact that “Bones” and “Good Boy” are not the first time that the singer has collaborated with West, Bieber, West’s producer and fellow Canadian artist, Chance the Ride.
But he is still the only member of the group to have been credited in a major album.
Weeknd has had a busy year, and it was his debut album, “All Night Long,” that earned him critical praise.
He also recently released his first album as an artist, the equally-worried “Dope,” which was released in October.
